 Mr Wilson Kennedy BVMS & MRCVS

Mr Kennedy qualified from the University of Glasgow in 1975.  He spent a year in Dervock, Co Antrim and a year in Airdrie, Scotland before spending two and a half years in Cape Town, South Africa.
He joined Ballyclare in 1980, becoming partner shorly after joining the practice with Mr Jim Sherrard.  At that time Ballyclare was just a two man practice.
His special interests are part time farming and he keeps a small flock of pedigree Texel sheep.  He enjoys sheep medicine and reproduction as well as small animal orthopaedics and in particular cruciate disesase in dogs.

 

 Mr Alan Gordon BVM&S MRCVS

Mr Gordon qualified from The Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies at The University of Edinburgh in 1979.  After working for 2 1/2 years in North Antrim in mixed practice, he moved to Ballyclare.  In 1988 he became one of the founder partners of Clare Vet Group.  Mr Gordon has developed an interest in small animal dentistry work since winning the Vet Surgeons Supply Company Award and this interest continues.
He is also very interested in fertility in Dairy Cattle.  He divides his time equally between the small animal and farm side of the practice.

 

Mr Andrew Healy MVB, MRCVS

Mr Healy qualified from University College Dublin in 1987.  He comes from Clonmel in Co Tipperary where he was brought up with horses and ponies.  He came to Ballyclare straight from College.
His main interest is equine work having grown this side of the practice over the last 15 years.

 

 

 

 

 Michael Woodside BVM&S MRCVS

Michael graduated from The Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies at The University of Edinburgh in 1991 and joined Clare Vet Group in 1995 after spending 4 years in mixed practice in Ballymena.
He enjoys all aspects of mixed practice and has a particular interest in dairy cattle health and small animal orthopaedics.
His spare time is spent with two energetic children and helping out on their family farm.

 

 

 

Keith McKeeman BVetMed MRCVS

Keith qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1999.  He worked in Melton Mowbray for 2 1/2 years before going to New Zealand where he worked in Dairy Practice before returning to Northern Ireland in 2003.  Keith started in Clare Vet Group in January 2003 and became a partner in 2005.  Keith is interested in small animal surgery and is currently studying towards the General Practitioners Certificate in Small Animal Surgery.  He is also interested in fertility and herd health of dairy cows.

Diane Beattie BVetMed MRCVS
Diane qualified from The Royal Veterinary College, London in 1997.  She joined Clare Vet Group in 1997, her local practice working in mixed practice.
Diane's main interest is ophthalmology in all species - large animal, equine and small animal.  She is currently studying towards the RCVS Cetificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology.

 

 

 Martin Webb BVSc GPCert(SAS) MRCVS 
Martin qualified from University of Bristol in 2002.  He worked in mixed practice in Somerset for five years where he developed an interest in small animal surgery and exotics.
Martin joined Clare Vet Group in September 2007.  He has recently finished and passed the General Practioners Certificate in Small Animal Surgery and continues to develop an interest in exotics.

 

 

 

 Ciaran Rainey BVSc MRCVS

Ciaran qualified from University of Liverpool in 2009.  He joined Clare Vet Group in July 2009.
Ciaran is from a farming family in Kilrea and enjoys both large and small animal work.
He has just completed a small animal ultrasound CPD course.

Naomi Hoy BVMS MRCVS
Naomi studied at University of Glasgow, qualifying in 1992.  She joined Clare Vet Group soon after qualifying, working in mixed practice.
She moved to small animal medicine and surgery only in 2001.
Naomi's special interests include small animal medicine, soft tissue surgery and ultrasound.  She enjoys all aspects of small mammals including rabbits and chinchillas.
Naomi was awarded the Frank Mullen Memorial Trophy in 2008 for the best clinical presentation by a practitioner at the North of Ireland Veterinary Association Annual Meeting on Rabbit Medicine.

 

 

Kirsten Keys BVM&S MRCVS
Kirsten qualified from The Royal (Dick) Veterinary College in 1996.  After working for one year in Dundee in mixed practice she moved to Northern Ireland and spent 4 years in mixed practice in Portadown, Co Armagh before moving to solely small animal practice at Clare Vet Group in 2001.  In 2010, Kirsten was awarded the Frank Mullen Memorial Trophy for the best clinical presentation by a practitioner at the North of Ireland Veterinary Asscociation Annual Meeting for a presentation on Geriatric Cats.
Kirsten's particular interests include both canine and feline medical investigations and soft tissue surgery. 

 

 

Pippa Swan BVSc CertWEL MRCVS
Pippa qualified from University of Liverpool in 1993.  She worked in small animal practice in England for a number of years before obtaining a Certificate in Welfare, Ethics and Law.  She worked in this field on a consultancy basis until moving to Northern Ireland and joining Clare Vet Group in 2005.  Pippa works part time in the small animal side of the practice.
