As one of Northern Ireland’s leading Veterinary Hospitals’, we aim to provide you with a professional, high quality veterinary service, offering the highest possible standards of veterinary care for your pet.

“Looking after your pet is what we do best”

Clare Vet Group was established in Ballyclare in 1980. Over the years, the practice has expanded to the current nineteen vet, small animal, farm and equine practice it is today.

At Clare Vets, we want to ensure your pet stays as healthy as possible, that is why we provide a Pet Health Plan which gives your pet the highest quality care in keeping them fit and healthy. For more information, please look under the Pet Health Plan link within the website.

We are proud to provide our own 24-hour emergency service based from the Ballyclare Hospital, and offer veterinary appointments throughout the day from all our three other clinics. Please click here to see our opening times.

In an EMERGENCY please contact your nearest clinic or, if after hours, telephone the emergency line on 028 9332 2223.

Please feel free to browse our website and find out more about what it means for your pet to be part of the Clare Vet Group Veterinary Practice with RCVS hospital status.

You can also find lots of information on general pet health care throughout the various links within the website.

RCVS Accreditation - What Does It Mean For You?

Clare Veterinary Group is proud to be an approved member of the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme both in the main hospital and across our other three practices.

The Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) is a voluntary initiative to accredit veterinary practices in the UK,  awarding hospital status to the practice. Through setting standards and carrying out regular assessments, the Scheme aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care.

We have been accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

This means that we undergo rigorous inspections and uphold a frequency of standards including hygiene, staff training, equipment and patient care.

This ensures high standards of care for your pets and peace of mind for pet owners.

Clare Veterinary Group is also a registered training centre for veterinary nursing and has successfully supported many students to train and qualify as Registered Veterinary Nurses.

The practice strongly encourages continuing professional development, with ongoing staff appraisals and training for all members of the practice.

Providing good customer and patient care is of the utmost importance to everyone at the practice.

What does this mean for you?

Not all Veterinary Practices have signed up to this scheme but we feel that by doing so, we are enhancing our commitment to you and your animal, to provide you with the best possible veterinary care.

What does this mean for us?

We have to provide an open, clear and comprehensive level of service.

  • We are committed to providing the best standard of care while endeavouring to maintain the quality of our service to the highest possible level.
  • We aim to provide the latest most relevant equipment for our clinics and ensure our vets are constantly up to date with new and current veterinary techniques.

We feel that by opening our doors to the RCVS we can ensure confidence in the quality and level of service that we provide.

See the RCVS website for more information on RCVS accredited practices.
